We aim to provide you with a transparent look at the egg donation process, so here is an overview of what to expect.
An egg donor is required to complete 4 pre-screen evaluations, schedule all appointments ahead of time, arrive at all appointments on time, follow medication instructions, and be responsible and dependable. Additionally, you will have 4-6 monitoring appointments and the egg retrieval.
With options to participate in a fresh or frozen cycle, you have the opportunity to donate eggs with the most minimal time commitment possible. When participating in our one-on-one program, you will wait to be selected by intended parents before beginning your cycle. As an egg banking donor, you can begin your cycle shortly after completing your screening evaluations. Overall, the time actually spent "in-cycle" is approximately 3-4 weeks.
In a one-on-one donation, you will be matched with one set of intended parents who will receive all eggs retrieved. You will be working with the fertility clinic of the intended parents choosing. If you’re local to their clinic, you will be seen there for all your appointments. If you’re not local to their clinic, we may need to fly you out once for your medical screening and again for the duration of your medication up until egg retrieval. Depending on the intended parent's clinic, they may allow you to be seen at a clinic local to you for some of your appointments. We will cover all travel expenses!
We partner with HRC Fertility in Newport Beach for all of our frozen egg banking donations. Since our San Diego egg donors are local to Newport Beach, you will be seen here for all your appointments. Once you complete your egg retrieval, your eggs will be frozen and stored at HRC Fertility. Typically, your eggs have the potential to be distributed amongst three to four sets of intended parents.
