First, let's take a quick look at the qualifications to determine whether you may be eligible to donate your eggs with Donor Nexus.
Additionally, you'll need to pass a series of screening evaluations for any genetic risks, medical conditions, or infectious diseases and complete fertility assessments before completing your cycle. Please note that candidates may be subject to additional criteria to determine eligibility.
After receiving your application and questionnaire, we will be in touch to share a detailed overview of the process and answer any questions you may have. Upon being accepted as an egg banking donor, you will start the screening process which consists of medical, genetic, and psychological evaluations in addition to a legal consultation. If you are participating in a one-on-one cycle, you will wait until you are selected by intended parents to complete your prescreening evaluations.
Once you complete and pass the prescreening evaluations, you are ready to begin your cycle. Typically, you can expect to begin taking birth control pills 7-10 days before beginning stimulation medications. Your medication protocol will be prescribed by your physician based on your hormone levels and medical evaluations. You will self-inject medications for approximately 12-14 days to help stimulate ovarian response. You will have a few monitoring appointments during this time.
The egg retrieval procedure itself only takes 20-30 minutes under monitored anesthesia care. For egg banking cycles, you must travel to Newport Beach, California, for the egg retrieval. For one-on-one donations, you will travel to the intended parent's fertility clinic for the retrieval, and possibly the monitoring appointments as well. All travel expenses are covered by Donor Nexus. You will receive your compensation shortly after your egg retrieval procedure.
Egg donors change lives! In addition to providing hope and making parenthood a possibility for the many thousands of people who turn to using donor eggs, the process also offers personal benefits for you as the donor. The financial compensation provided for your time and commitment may help you pursue goals like paying off student loans or saving up for future opportunities. Additionally, the required medical screening offers valuable insights into your fertility, reproductive health, and genetic makeup that you can use to make more informed family planning decisions in the future.
If you meet the requirements to become a donor and are drawn to make a difference in others' lives, egg donation may be a meaningful choice. Below, we share additional information on the options that you have when you become an egg donor with Donor Nexus.
Compensation ranges from $6,500 - $50,000+ USD*
As a one-on-one egg donor, your profile will be added to our online database under our "Fresh Egg Donor" program. You will then wait to be selected by one set of intended parents. We wish we had a definite answer for how long it will take to get matched with intended parents, it could take several weeks, months, or over a year. We are committed to ensuring the match is right for both parties.
You will likely be working with the fertility clinic of the intended parents choosing. If you’re local to their clinic, you will be seen there for all your appointments. If you’re not local to their clinic, we may need to fly you out once for your medical screening and again for the duration of your stimulation medication up until egg retrieval. However, depending on the intended parent's clinic, they may allow you to be seen at a clinic local to you for some of your appointments. In a one-on-one donation, one set of intended parents receives all retrieved eggs.
*Compensation will increase with each subsequent donation. Compensation on the higher end of the range is typically for women who have donated eggs before and/or have been accepted into our Premier program.
Compensation ranges from $5,000 - $20,000+ USD*
As an egg banking donor, you do not need to wait to be matched with intended parents. Upon passing the prescreening evaluations, you will begin your cycle and the retrieved eggs will be added to our egg bank and have the potential to be disbursed to 3-4 sets of intended parents.
We partner with HRC Fertility in Newport Beach, California, for all of our frozen egg banking donations. If you are local to Newport Beach, you will be seen there for all your appointments. If you are located outside of California, we will have you seen at a fertility clinic local to you. Then, we will fly you out to Newport Beach for your egg retrieval.
*Compensation will increase with each subsequent donation. Compensation on the higher end of the range is typically for women who have donated eggs before and/or have been accepted into our Premier program.
