Get an email when a new blue-eyed donor joins

Blue-eyed donors are added to the egg donor database once they've been accepted into our program, and their frozen eggs reach the Frozen Egg Bank after they complete their retrievals. Because new profiles appear throughout the year, a saved search is the easiest way to hear about them, since we email you when someone new matches your filters and you no longer have to log in every day to look.

1. Open the egg donor database and check Blue under Eye Color in the filters on the left, and add anything else that matters to you, such as natural hair color, height or education. If you also have a background in mind, such as Swedish, Dutch, Irish or Russian, click More filters and add it in the Heritage filter.

2. Click Save this search at the top right, and the search is named and saved for you automatically.

3. We email you when a new donor matching your search is added, so you can review her profile right away.

What blue-eyed egg donors does Donor Nexus have available?

Our database holds more than 500 donor profiles across all ethnicities, and you can filter it by eye color to see blue-eyed donors in both the Fresh Matching Program and the Frozen Egg Bank. Blue eyes are most common in families with European ancestry, so many blue-eyed donors have Northern or Eastern European roots such as Scandinavian, Dutch, German, Irish, Polish or Russian heritage, and their hair can be anything from blonde to light or dark brown. Availability changes as new donors join and matches are made, so the egg donor database is the most accurate place to see who is currently available, or our intended parent team can run the search for you.

All detailed egg donor profiles list the donor's eye color along with the eye colors of her parents, grandparents and siblings, her maternal and paternal heritage, height, education, and whether she offers non-identified, identified, or Open ID donation, and our donor egg programs overview compares fresh and frozen side by side.

How do I search for a blue-eyed donor in the database?

Open the egg donor database, check Blue under Eye Color in the filters on the left, and click Search. From there you can add natural hair color, height or education, and click More filters to search by heritage. When you find a search you like, click Save this search and we will email you when a new blue-eyed donor who matches joins.

Can I find a blue-eyed donor with blonde hair?

You can, because the Natural Hair Color filter works alongside Eye Color, so a single search with Blonde selected under Natural Hair Color and Blue selected under Eye Color brings up donors with blonde hair and blue eyes. Each profile lists her eye color, hair color, height, education and heritage on both sides, so you can compare donors side by side, and our blonde egg donors and Irish egg donors pages have more search tips for lighter coloring.

Why do family eye colors matter when choosing a blue-eyed donor?

Eye color is shaped by many genes, and your baby inherits half of those variants from the egg donor and half from the sperm provider, so a blue-eyed donor raises the chance of a blue-eyed child without guaranteeing it. That is why detailed profiles list the eye colors of the donor's parents, grandparents and siblings, which shows you whether blue or other light eye colors run in her family, and your case manager can help you look more closely at a donor's family eye colors as you compare profiles. Our guide to egg donor eye color and what your baby could inherit explains how eye color is passed down and which colors are possible for each pairing of egg donor and sperm provider.

How does matching with a blue-eyed donor work?

Fresh Matching Program

In a Fresh Matching Program cycle you are matched one-to-one with a donor, she travels to your IVF clinic for monitoring and retrieval, and you receive every viable egg from that retrieval. Donor Nexus fresh cycles average 28.9 eggs retrieved and 22.6 mature eggs. Many families choose fresh when they hope to create enough embryos for a future sibling. A fresh cycle usually takes four to six months from match to retrieval, with most of that time spent on donor screening.

Frozen Egg Bank

Frozen donor eggs from blue-eyed donors are available in cohorts of six, and they can be shipped to your clinic anywhere in the United States. Eggs are retrieved, vitrified, and stored at a single Southern California site and shipped once, directly to your clinic. Frozen eggs usually reach your clinic within four to six weeks of paperwork and payment, and each cohort comes with the blastocyst guarantee described on the Frozen Egg Bank page.

Where are our blue-eyed egg donors located?

Our blue-eyed donors live in different parts of the United States and abroad, and the location is shown on each profile. The donor's location doesn't limit your options. Fresh donors travel to your clinic wherever they live, and their travel expenses are included in the program pricing, while frozen eggs ship directly to clinics throughout the United States. International shipping and donor travel are now limited by regulations in many countries, so most of our international intended parents choose to travel to a U.S. clinic for treatment, and the clinic can walk them through the treatment timeline so they can plan the visit. Women between 19 and 30 who are considering donating eggs, whatever their eye color, can find out how the donor side of our program works and apply online.

For many families they are, and through the Donor Nexus Donor Embryo Program, you can browse embryos donated by other couples and individuals. The embryo database is updated regularly, and saved searches work there too, so you can be emailed when a new listing matches what you are looking for.

Register for free at Donor Nexus, open the egg donor database, and check Blue under Eye Color. The filter works across both the Fresh Matching Program and the Frozen Egg Bank, and you can add natural hair color, height, education and heritage to narrow your search. Availability changes as new donors join and matches are made, so you can also click Save this search to be emailed when a new blue-eyed donor who matches joins, or ask our intended parent team to run the search for you.

The egg donor database has an Eye Color filter with Blue, Green, Hazel and Brown options, which lets you see blue-eyed donors specifically. Each profile also includes her hair color, height, education and maternal and paternal heritage, along with the eye colors of her parents, grandparents and siblings, so you can find the donor who feels right for your family.

Not necessarily. Eye color is shaped by many genes inherited from both the egg donor and the sperm provider, so a blue-eyed donor raises the chance of a blue-eyed child but doesn't guarantee it. A blue-eyed donor paired with a blue-eyed sperm provider most often has a blue-eyed child, while with a brown-eyed sperm provider the outcome depends on whether he carries a lighter-eye variant. Our egg donor eye color guide explains the possibilities for each pairing, and your fertility doctor or a genetic counselor can talk through what to expect for your family.

Yes. Detailed donor profiles list the eye colors of the donor's parents, grandparents and siblings, which can show you whether blue or other light eye colors run in her family. Your case manager can also help you look more closely at a donor's family eye colors while you compare profiles.

Yes. Combine Blue under Eye Color with Blonde under Natural Hair Color to search for a donor with blonde hair and blue eyes, then click More filters and use the Heritage filter to add a background such as Scandinavian (including Norwegian), Dutch, German, Irish, Polish or Russian. Donors describe their heritage in their own words, so check every spelling that appears, such as Norwegian and Norway.

Run a search in the egg donor database with Blue selected under Eye Color, plus any hair color, heritage or other filters you want, then click Save this search at the top right, and we will email you when a new donor who matches your search is added. Saved searches work in the Donor Embryo Program database too.
